Bring a little extra whimsy to your home or garden with a handmade gnome! Join us for a hand-building workshop where you can craft your very own ceramic gnome, perfect for brightening up any space. No prior experience necessary – our instructors are here to guide you every step of the way!

During this 3-hour workshop, you’ll have fun adding details like hats, snowy beards, and anything else you can think of to add a little flair to your gnome. Let your creativity take the lead!

After the workshop, we will bisque fire your piece, as well as glaze it to one color of your choice. Want to get more creative with glazing? Come back to the studio after your piece is bisque fired and paint your gnome with our underglazes and a clear glaze to finish it for an additional $20, and we will glaze fire it after that. Just ask your instructor!

Class Details: 3 hours – Fri, 6p to 9p

What’s Included: A 3-hour guided class focused on learning the basics of hand building. Final pieces will be glazed by our studio staff fired shortly after.  

Attire: Wear something comfortable that you are willing to get dirty (clay does wash out of clothes). Closed-Toe shoes are required for any session involving pottery wheels.

Pro tip: long nails can make it difficult to work with clay, so plan accordingly, or ask your instructor for tips.  If you have long hair, we recommend that you tie it back.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. You may cancel by email at teresa@workinprogress.me. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 – 6 days will incur a 20% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the event will incur a 30% fee. Cancellations made less than 48 will not be refunded. The studio owner has the only right to be flexible here.

We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for events, and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small business and a lot of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Thank you for understanding!
