Do you remember those heart shaped candies you used to get on Valentine’s Day?  Here’s your chance to make a grown-up version of that for your sweetheart!  

In this hands-on 2-hour workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step by one of our studio instructors to create your own heart shaped trinket dishes. No prior pottery experience needed! You’ll learn various hand building techniques as you craft your pieces, and come away with some new skills!

After the workshop, we will bisque fire your pieces and clear and glaze fire them after that.  Up to 3 dishes included in the workshop.  Additional dishes are $5/dish.

Dishes will be ready 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

Workshop Details

Age Range: 8+
Class Date: February 13, 2026
Class Duration: 2 hours, 6p to 8p

What’s Included: A 2-hour guided class focused on learning the basics of hand building. You’ll make up to 3 dishes.  Final pieces will be clear glazed by our studio staff fired shortly after.  

Attire: Wear something comfortable that you are willing to get dirty (clay does wash out of clothes). Closed-Toe shoes are required for any session involving pottery wheels.

Pro tip: long nails can make it difficult to work with clay, so plan accordingly, or ask your instructor for tips.  If you have long hair, we recommend that you tie it back.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before a scheduled class. You may cancel by email at teresa@workinprogress.me. Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 3 – 6 days will incur a 20% fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours to the event will incur a 30% fee. Cancellations made less than 48 will not be refunded. The studio owner has the only right to be flexible here.

We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for events, and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small business and a lot of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Thank you for understanding!
