At Work In Progress, we believe that Pride was not born of a need to celebrate being gay, but rather the community’s right to exist without persecution. So, instead of wondering why there isn’t a straight pride movement, be thankful that one isn’t necessary.
The artist focus today is on Frida Kahlo. Kahlo’s bisexuality is recorded in both her paintings and her private life. When she visited Paris she had an affair with the great Josephine Baker, the African-American dancer and burlesque entertainer who took Paris by storm in the 1930s.
